Jean de la Fontaine Museum

Jean de La Fontaine was born around July 8, 1621, in Château-Thierry, in an elegant townhouse that now houses the museum. It was undoubtedly within its walls that he found inspiration and composed a large part of his literary work. He sold it in 1676 at the age of 55 and then spent the rest of his days in Paris.
His birthplace was transformed into a museum in 1876. This superb memorial site retraces the poet's life and offers a journey through time and space to discover his work.
